SUPPORT TO PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HANDICAPPED CHILDREN

    We aid over fifty physical and mental handicap children, which we assist temporarily, in their own homes, offering food, medicines, clothes and, in most of the cases, financial help. We assist them also, with the transportation, then their parents can take them to the Doctor or to the therapy sessions (like physiotherapy, phono-audiologist, etc.)
    Children physically and mentally handicapped need special care, because of their total physical and motion dependence. They need someone to stay with them 24 hours a day. What makes the situation of these children worse is the fact that most of their mothers are single, because right after their birth, many fathers runaway of the responsibility for insecurity or even cowardliness.
    So, most of the cases we assist are about mothers, that is because they are single and don’t have financial conditions to take care of their handicap children. Those children depend entirely on their mothers, what prevent them from working.
    Thinking about a better support for these children and mothers and also planning to increase our work to reach other children so needed of compassion and careness, we are building another daycare called “Recanto de Paz Paula Prado”.
