SUPPORT TO YOUTH

    The Mocidade Espirita Casa do Caminho – MECCA, is the youth and children's meetings, coordinated by volunteers, where once a week, on Sunday morning, happens the spiritist teaching, equivalent to Christian Sunday schools. Besides the classes, several works are made to the youth and teenagers of the local community, with the intent to build and offer new perspectives and ideals for a better world.
    Using art (craft, dance, music and theatre) and edifying culture, based on ideal of fraternity and universalism, we intent to rescue values for those who are our Project to the Future. We have individual activities such as free art classes and group activities, such as lectures, therapies, living experiences e fraternal campaign in favor of the community.
    In “Auta de Sousa Campaign”, the youth. also children and adults, distribute written good messages in the daycare neighborhood and also collect food, clothes and shoes, to give to the families in a worse economical conditions than their own. In this way, we give opportunities to those who have few to give to help the ones who don’t have anything. That’s a fraternity exercise.
    The “Mocidade” makes several kinds of campaigns at companies for donations of various segments, where part of what is gotten goes to the daycare and the other part goes to previously registered families, according to their needs.
    Another work developed by the “Mocidade” is the cook and distribution of Fraternal Soup that, beyond being distributed at the Daycare on Sundays after the lectures and child’s Spiritist Christhian Classes, the soup is distributed at the hospital near by the daycare, to the patients and their relatives or friends who are waiting for them.
    The “Mocidade” also promotes visits to other institutions. Visits to one home for the elderly at Vila Mutirão sector are made weekly. Once in a month, visits to places which help with the recovery of drug addicted and mental handicap people, orphanage, hospitals, etc, are made.
